Through the results of her research, Razandinta Tafshiilaa Lubna produced an innovation in the form of tempeh himetan. The results of his research show that himetan tempeh can be used as a suitable comparison or alternative food for DPP IV inhibitor drug therapy for people with diabetes mellitus.

Together with Dr. Resna Murti Wibowo, Sp.PD., M.Kes., as supervisor, Razandinta succeeded in making a prototype of himetan tempeh and won a silver medal in the INNOPA WINTEX in the Food and Biotechnology category.

Via telephone, Wednesday (20/09/2023), Resna said that this research was carried out by Razandinta since around 2018. "Currently the research has entered Insilico Research to look at the protein structure in Himetan tempeh," said Resna.

Resna appreciated Razandinta's enthusiasm for conducting research. He said Razandinta had abilities above the average FKK student in general. According to him, Razandinta is very focused on research to become a scholar researcher.

Resna hopes that FKK students will not only focus on completing their studies as doctors, but will also have a foresight for research that can benefit human life. According to Resna, the results of innovation can become good deeds of worship. Apart from that, he also hopes that UMJ will send more delegates to similar competitions.

Razandita has started her research since 2018, when she was still in grade 2 of high school. The idea of making himetan tempeh started from his and Indonesian people's preference for consuming tempeh. Then he started studying and taking courses in making tempeh in the Sentul area. "I see that it is difficult for people with diabetes to find additional food for people with diabetes to consume," he said.

After winning this competition, Razandita said that the results of her tempeh himetan research would be further developed for commercialization. Razan admitted that he received good guidance and assistance from FKK UMJ lecturers. Furthermore, he hopes to continue to receive support from the campus to take part in similar competitions.

This Himetan tempeh innovation has also won competitions and awards, including winning a bronze medal at Thailand Inventors Day 2023, and a gold medal at WSEEC 2023. At IID 2023, UMJ is one of 2 PTMAs taking part in the competition, competing with universities and industry throughout -world.
