Faculty PKKMB Held Simultaneously

The fourth day of  Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta PKKMB was held simultaneously, chaired by the Student Executive Board (BEM) in each faculty, Thursday (21/09/2023). In contrast to the previous day's PKKMB, new students were introduced to student organizations in the faculty environment starting from BEM, Student Representative Council (DPM), Student Association, and Semi-Autonomous Institutions (LSO).

The series of events began with an introduction to faculty life, such as leaders, study programs, academic activities, student activities, and student organizations. Each Faculty packages introductory events with various unique events such as displaying award trophies, achievements and work results during activities at the institution.

One thing that attracted attention was the introduction of the 5s (smile, greeting, greeting, politeness and manners) as characteristics for new students by the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK) UMJ. Not only that, the Faculty of Agriculture (FTan) also provides a program for new students in the form of hydroponic practice. Faculty PKKMB activities are also an attraction for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) who are also active members of the Faculty institution. These business actors sell various kinds of food and drinks.

Several faculties also present figures and influences who provide motivation for new students to start studying. The UMJ Faculty of Education (FIP) presented Sheryl Annavita, a young motivator. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UMJ presented Haris Azhar, a Human Rights (HAM) activist, the Faculty of Law (FH) presented two active judges, Wahiduddin Adams (Constitutional Court) and Marta Satria Putra (Supreme Court).

The faculty introduces student organizations, starting from the Student Executive Board (BEM) at the faculty level, the Student Representative Council (DPM) at the faculty level, associations in each study program, and Semi-Autonomous Institutions (LSO). The LSOs in each faculty have different varieties, ranging from social, arts, music, health, sports, photography, and others tailored to student interests.

In another session, Aan Saputra, a new student from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) from the Political Science study program said that being a new student was a fun thing. Moreover, the event which has been held since Monday has been packaged in an interesting way, both from the University and the Faculty.

He also added that today's activity of introducing students to institutions increased their interest in being active in organizing. It didn't stop there, he invited students as Agents of Change to take part in organizing.

“Today's PKKMB event has increased my interest in organizing. Because, later in the institution I can broaden my knowledge. For all my friends who are still unsure about organizing, let's be active in institutions together. "As young people who are agents of change, we can definitely learn a lot in institutions," concluded Aan when met during an interview.

The UMJ PKKMB will end with a Ta'aruf Period (MASTA) event for new students of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM), Friday (22/9/23) at each Faculty Commissariat. (FZ/MT/KSU).
